Apple Classroom - Apple Classroom is a powerful tool that will allow you to manage your students iPads efficiently, making the most out of your limited class time, and unleashing their creative potential through their iPad. Foundational Literacy

Reading is a complex process and literacy development begins at a very young age. This course will focus on gaining understandings in the fundamental components of emergent literacy including phonological awareness, alphabetic principle, orthographic mapping, phonics, language, and vocabulary and how each of these relate to and build on the overall literacy experiences and competencies of our students. This session is designed for those who are new to foundational literacy and also those who want or need a reminder or booster.
We will plan on meeting synchronously for between 3-4 hours. (dates TBD)

Canvas Teacher Workshop for Secondary Educators

Canvas Teacher Workshop for Secondary Educators - This self-paced course is made for secondary teachers who want to develop their skills in Canvas and build new content.  Over two weeks we will explore topics including new Canvas features for engaged, self-paced learning, effective course design, building assessments for goal setting and reflection, and developing a responsive digital classroom culture.  We will meet synchronously 3 - 4 times to reflect on best practices and provide feedback on the content you are creating.  At the end of the course, you will leave with modules organized, assessments ready, and a toolbox of resources for a dynamic school year teaching digital learners in person.

Unpacking the Pyramid Model: Creating Classroom Environments to Support ALL Young Learners

In Person June 23 & 24 from 8:30am-12:30pm. 
The Pyramid Model provides guidance on research-based practices that can promote social-emotional competence of all children and prevent challenging behaviors. This session will focus on designing classroom/learning environments that support the widest range of young learners. Environments that are well designed can act as a “second teacher” to reduce the likelihood of challenging behaviors and also promote strong standards-supported learning outcomes for young children. Pyramid Model tools and strategies will be discussed and showcased. *Course supported by Pyramid Model resources, materials and book.
